About this doll

'Rebecca' is dressed for a ball in a pink embroidered organza gown with green satin gloves, a tiara and emerald-colored necklace and earrings. Shirley Lloyd made her from a lady-doll sculpt by Vicki Hamilton.

Her brown hair swept up and her slightly tilted head add to the elegance.

Background

Vicki Hamilton is an American doll sculptor who issued V-numbered molds under the name 'Vicki's Original Designs' in the 1990s. Her specialty was the adult-figured fashion doll in several sizes: 'Elizabeth' came in 11.5-inch, 18-inch and 36-inch versions and 'Rebecca' as a 24-inch fashion lady. The 24-inch 'Vicki Lynn' mold is still sold with Southern Belle, Victorian and Queen Elizabeth I costume patterns.

A fashion-lady sculpt is designed so that the angles of shoulders, waist and arms show off the costume, giving the maker every chance to express herself through dress and jewelry. The same sculpt becomes an entirely different person depending on the era of the clothes she wears.
